Calling all restless sleepers! Do you wake up feeling unrefreshed, even after a full night’s sleep? You might be one of the millions of people battling Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), a condition where your breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep. While PAP therapy is often the go-to treatment, it’s not for everyone.

That’s where we come in! Our local research facility is embarking on a mission to explore a brand new investigational medication as a potential treatment for OSA, specifically for those who can’t or don’t want to use PAP.

Here’s the lowdown:

• The goal: To see if this new medication is safe and effective in tackling OSA.
• Who we’re looking for: You! If you experience symptoms like daytime sleepiness, snoring, and interrupted sleep, and aren’t a fan of PAP, you might be eligible.
• The journey: It all starts with a screening visit to see if you qualify. If selected, you’ll be randomly assigned to receive either the investigational medication or a placebo (a harmless inactive substance) once daily for around 6 months. Throughout the study, you’ll attend 7 doctor’s visits, including 3 overnight sleep studies where you’ll be monitored in a comfortable sleep clinic. Don’t worry, everything is covered at no cost to you, and qualified participants may even receive compensation for their time and travel.
